🐝 Weekly Roundup - Issue No. 35

🌵 Hello Buckeye & Beyond!

In case you haven’t heard, it was announced yesterday that Trader Joe’s is coming to Goodyear! Specifically, it will be on the northwest corner of McDowell & Bullard and I’m told construction has already begun on the building. 🥳

I love Trader Joe’s so much, I wrote about them back in December. And, that article only includes about half of the products I use regularly. If you haven’t ever been to one, you’re in for a treat! Prepare to be addicted!

Before we moved here, TJ’s was the only store where I shopped! It took a while, but we eventually adapted to not having one 5 minutes from our house. These days, we make a monthly trip to the TJ’s in Surprise and I’m looking very forward to not having to do that anymore.

As of now, the opening date has not been announced, but you can bet I’ll keep you posted the minute I hear!

Now let’s get into it, 🐝 cause…

The more you know, the more you go!

COMMUNITY HEARTBEAT 💟

A Go Fund Me has been established to help support Brenda Suarez (Verrado local) and her fight against brain cancer. I know many of you know Brenda, but in case you don’t, she’s very active in our community, a neighborhood leader, and every year she decorates a park for the ‘We ❤️ Christmas in the Park’ tour. She’s also a former Specials Teacher and Behavior Tech at VHES. She loves working with kids and spending time walking and exploring the Verrado trails. Sending you love & healing, Brenda. #SuarezStrong

⚾️ Also, her husband’s co-ed softball team is putting together a tournament for June 7, 2025, to raise funds. All the details on that can be found here.

FOR THE ❤️ OF DOGS

🥰 This week’s issue brought to you by these two cuties, Layla & Charlie, who stayed with us here at The Sanctuary this week. I can’t believe I was able to get a photo of Charlie, because he usually buries his head as soon as he sees the camera. He’s a man of mystery! Little Layla comes to stay often and she knows she’s the queen of the house over here. I am so lucky to get to take care of these wonderful little creatures! Thank God for Dogs!

Dog-Related Events:

  • Saturday, 5/10: Adoption Event (Multiple Rescues On-Site) | Toyota of Surprise | 11 AM - 2 PM

📸 I am seeking pictures of your animals so I can feature your creatures here! Send your favorite photo & details to me here.

FRESH FINDS 🔎

What in the Willy Wonka?! You’ll never guess!

🦷 They say that necessity is the mother of invention—well, this mother was getting pretty tired of messy toothpaste, dribbled in the sink, oozing out of the tube and gunking up my drawer. Right about the time I had reached the end of my rope (#truestory), I discovered these toothpaste tablets on the MyNoTrace website. I’ve never heard of such a thing! I immediately started deep-dive researching and reading reviews, like I always do, and was pleasantly surprised by all the raving reviews!

The next day, I hustled over to visit MyNoTrace (then at the Waddell Farmer’s Market) to get my very own. I was a little concerned that brushing my teeth with a ‘mint’ was going to be weird (after all, I’ve been brushing 50+ years the old fashioned way). But I soon found that this new way is well… actually, uhm… FUN!!! Pop one in your mouth, chew (don’t swallow 😆), wet your toothbrush, and start brushing. It foams up and leaves your teeth squeaky clean—not slimy! I actually can’t believe how well these work!

Find MyNoTrace and all their eco-friendly, innovative products that are good for both you & Mother Earth on their website and follow them on Instagram see where they are poppin’ up around town! They’re a local small biz, so you can arrange for a browse and pick-up now too (during the market off-season)! [Note, the toothpaste tablets are sold in bulk, by weight, so you can buy however many you want. You can bring your own container or they’ll provide you with one!]

**This is not sponsored, I just love sharing rad things I find around town!
