Hello Neighbors!
If you’re like me, you’re taking this next week to rest and recuperate and prepare for next year! I’m also reflecting on 2024 and how much has happened since launching The Buckeye Buzz on September 12, 2024. I have far exceeded the goals I set for this and it’s because of you, Buckeye!
I want to thank all of you for being a part of it and for allowing me the opportunity to serve you and the community. I truly feel this is what I was born to do and all the career frogs I had to kiss along the way, were necessary and worth it!
If you’re at a place in your life where you know you’re meant for more, I want to encourage you to follow your heart and start taking steps in that direction, even if you don’t believe in yourself or that change is possible. The world needs you and those gifts that only you can offer!
And, since 2025 is only a few short days away, let me be the first to wish you a Happy New Year! I’m here to support you in whatever you endeavor to accomplish, so if you need help or encouragement, please let me know!

HITTING REWIND & GOING BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Reflecting back over the last (also the first) 15 issues of The Buzz, I wanted to re-share the very first feature story that appeared here. 🔥 Barbon Asadero (Tacos Barbon’s new restaurant in downtown Buckeye) has their soft opening on Friday, December 24th @ 4 PM! Be sure to follow them on Instagram for details on their official Grand Opening date!
🎰 The swanky ($450M!!!) & enormous (184k sq. ft!!!) Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks opened in Waddell on December 18th. The buzz I’m seeing about it online seems to be positive overall. If you go, let me know what you think!

🐶 West Valley Animal Rescue asked that I relay to you that the first two weeks of January are typically their busiest time of year due to owner surrenders. Apparently, sadly, lots of people get animals over Christmas and by January, they no longer want or can’t take care of them. Accordingly, they need even more support than ever so they can take care of the influx of dogs & cats. They are especially in need of dog food! You can purchase this (or other items) items directly from their Amazon Wish List, then select their address on the shipping page and it will be sent directly to them. Note, for their address to automatically populate, only items from their Wishlist can be in your cart.
🐕️ Wanted to share a bit of happy news: Happy got adopted yesterday! I shared about him in Issue No. 11, and was going to share about him again today because he had not had even one application. As I was preparing this section, I couldn’t find him on the West Valley Animal Rescue website and was then informed that he got adopted on Christmas Eve! I’m so happy, I’m crying Happy tears! 😭
🧨 Lastly, please be sure you’re prepared for the New Year’s Eve fireworks (and explosions 😰) by making sure your animals are secure, hopefully inside your house! Also, I have found this homeopathic remedy to be very beneficial in helping my animals with anxiety. A little goes a long way, so be sure to start off on the lower end of dosage suggestions and work your way up from there.*

🌄 In case you missed it (I did!), we were gifted an incredible sunset on Christmas Eve! Since I saw so many people sharing about it online, I knew I had to share a picture here. Luckily, my friend Morayma Makay, captured it from her backyard! There is just nothing like our Arizona sky! 😍
💝 As for Morayma, she’s one of my most-favorite people ever! The universe gifted me with meeting her prior to us both moving here from California. Her belief in Buckeye and Verrado High School is what gave me the confidence that this was the right place for my family too! Find her online on her blog and on YouTube.

🐝 The software program I use to create The Buzz, sent me a few “Year in Review” stats that surprised me! These numbers only take into account the posts written through Issue No. 13, so it’s not a completely accurate tally (to date), but still fun to see! 👀 And thanks to your eyeballs for making up the “Total Impressions!” I couldn’t do this without YOU!!! ❤️ |  |
✴️ My internet service provider ("Cox”) just raised our bill $100 per month and the only way to qualify for other discounts is to switch our cell service to them too! Not happening! So, I’m investigating switching to Starlink, which is the only other option available in my neighborhood. If you have made the switch to them, can you email me your experience please. I know I’m not the only one struggling with this problem and would like to offer a better solution to the community!
🚀 In preparing for 2025 and all the things I have planned for The Buzz, I’m finding myself having to push through some pretty big fears. I listened to this podcast on my walk this morning and found it just what I needed to hear! Side note: I met Jamie Kern Lima in person a few years ago and she truly is one of the kindest humans I have ever met; I totally forgot about my interaction with her until she popped on as part of this interview.
