☀️ Looks like we made it!
It’s the last week of school in our neck of the woods and whew, just in time. This is Mr. Buzz’s first year as a teacher (2nd career!) and I now understand why teachers “get” the summers off: they need it to recover. If you see a teacher, please give them a squeeze!
As for you guys—you kept me laughing with your comments and responses to last week’s poll. Initially the tally was neck-and-neck but alas, the ‘one page’ event listing option was the winner.
I should have been doing it that way all along… but hey, this letter is a living, breathing work-in-progress. Thank you for your input!

🐾 Meet Bernadette: This 8-month-old purebred Maine Coon is a gorgeous fluff ball with a regal stare and a heart that just needs a little warming up. She’s a bit shy at first (like all cats 😼), but with some love & affection, she’ll be purring in your lap in no time.
Bernadette does well with other felines but hasn’t yet been introduced to dogs. She’s already spayed, tested, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you’d like to meet this napping queen (who, like me, prefers not to be disturbed mid-snooze; that’s the exact look I get on my face too! 😹), text BARK at 623-826-3085. Her adoption fee is $400.

🪩 Did you know there’s a local “Fun Over 50” Facebook Group with over 1,000 members that plan all sorts of F-U-N outings and events? It’s based in Verrado but you can live anywhere!
🍩 Have you heard of Too Good to Go? Their mission is to fight food waste. You can get discounted goodies from local eateries like Coldwater Coffeehouse & Bakery. The more users there are for the app, the more local restaurants will get involved, which means more deals for us. Spread the word!
🌆 Last night I attended a “State of the City” watch party with Mayor Orsborn. The presentation (click the link) is informative and worth the watch. The segments are titled so you can skip to what interests you. I especially enjoyed the ‘transportation’ section with John Willett (Sr. Traffic Engineer) where he talks about why road projects take ‘so long,’ the process & costs involved, and upcoming projects and timelines. They also discuss the recently-announced improvements to the Jackrabbit/I-10 interchange.
