🐝 Weekly Roundup - Issue No. 31

Hello Neighbors!
What a week! I’ve been out buzzin’ in Buckeye…
On Saturday, I attended a lovely luncheon at the Coyote Library, thanks to my fellow BCI Classmate, Fran Podlasinski. Lunch was catered by Fresh Fitness Kitchen, and I’m still dreaming about it! Truly one of the best meals I’ve had since moving to Buckeye! Highly recommend if you need catering!
On Monday, I visited the monthly Block Party at Anthem Coffee and got to meet the owner, Bryan Reynolds. He and Anthem do so many great things for our community and are so supportive of other local entrepreneurs—I can see why so many people love him!
Also, finally got to meet Elissa of Rebel Clips, who you may have seen me post about before. She runs a mobile dog nail-trimming business and pops up at various locations across the valley. I always share when she’s in our area, so keep your eyes peeled if your pooch needs a pawdicure!
Lastly, tonight’s the last night of Buckeye Civic Institute and truth be told, I’m pretty sad about it. BCI has been an experience beyond what I expected; I’ll be sharing more about that in an upcoming issue.
Now let’s get into it, 🐝 cause…
The more you know, the more you go!
~ ❤️ Vanessa
P.S. I’m seeking your input and would really appreciate it if you could answer the new poll at the bottom of this letter. Thank you! 😉
In This Week's Buzz:

DISCOVER: SUNDANCE PARK
☀️ A few weeks ago, our Buckeye Civic Institute class boarded a charter bus and went on tour. First stop: Sundance Park! I’ll never forget my classmate, Alex’s, amazement & wonder when he stepped into the parking lot, under the glow of a beautiful sunset. It’s kind of magical when you go there for the first time — hard to believe something so vast and vibrant is hiding in plain sight, right in the heart of Buckeye…

FOR THE ❤️ OF DOGS

💓 Have you ever met a dog and felt an instant connection?
That’s exactly what happened between me and my neighbors Maggie and Tony’s pooch, Sadee (pronounced “Say-Dee”). I just returned from feeding her some birthday treats, which led Tony to share the story of how Sadee came into their lives:
“We got her on August 8, 2014, at the vet when we went to pick up our dog Mia’s ashes. Over the weekend, 3 days earlier, Sadee and another dog had been tied together and left at the vet’s front door. She was just a tiny little thing then—maybe 3-4 months old. Her nails were painted pink, and she was already potty and leash trained.”
They counted back a few months and landed on April—both Maggie and Tony’s birthday month—as the most likely time of her birth. So, they chose April 8 as Sadee’s birthday, to keep it all in the family.
This year, they’re not just celebrating her birthday—they’re also marking four years since Sadee survived Valley Fever! Because of that illness, she’ll have to take daily medication for the rest of her life. But, what a miracle! This girl is one tough—and very sweet—cookie!
