What a whirlwind! When I launched this (aka pushed myself off a cliff way before I was ready) back on September 12, 2024, I didn’t even think beyond just getting one issue out.

Which is kind of funny now, considering a weekly newsletter is… well, a weekly commitment. If I had thought that far (this far) ahead, I probably would’ve talked myself out of it before I even began. That used to be my M.O. — overthinking myself right into inaction! Needless to say though, I’m still here. We’re doing this. And The Buzz? It’s just getting started. I love building this community with you!

So, most of all — THANK YOU!!! From sharing it with your friends and neighbors, to sending the kindest messages, to the comments and love you leave on the polls, for your enthusiasm for The Buzz when we meet in person, and for placing ads here—you have no idea how much all of that keeps this going. 💓

❄️ Grab a tissue and meet Frost.

Frost is a sweet, resilient spayed female Chihuahua (age 3, 14 pounds) with a heart full of love. Left at the shelter without her puppies (her previous owners decided to keep them, but not her 😭), she’s been waiting patiently for a second chance at a forever home. A little shy at first, Frost blossoms with patience and becomes the most loyal companion you could ask for. Once she trusts you, she will be glued to your side.

She’s dog-door trained, adores stuffed toys, and loves nothing more than carrying them around or snuggling up with them as she drifts off to sleep. This gentle, easy-going girl is ready to be cherished—and to love you back unconditionally. She’s excellent with children, cats and other dogs!

Her adoption includes vaccinations, spay, microchip, leash, collar, and toys.

5-SECOND FACTS ⏱️ 

🌳 I love this time of year when all the Palo Verde (Spanish for “green stick”) trees suddenly transform to giant bouquets of bright yellow blooms. The Palo Verde was designated as the official state tree of Arizona in 1954. They bloom from late March to early May.

IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW 📌 

  • 👣 A few weeks ago, I shared my favorite slippers (which I still love!!!), but coming in at a close 2nd is my new favorite jumper! So comfortable! Legs are a little wide and baggy at the end, but I solve that with an 80’s fold & roll!*

  • 🎡 The Maricopa County Fair opens 4/04 and runs thru 04/04-04/06 & 04/10-4/13 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds in Phoenix.  Admission for ages 8+ is only $10! There are discounts on ride wristband tickets if purchased before 4/04.

  • 🐄 Speaking of the fair, The Plaid Shirt Club is a local non-profit organization aimed to help those that have little to no financial help when it comes to the auction of their animal. Click their page for information about them, what they do, and how you can help.

  • 🎽 Registration is open for the Put on the Cape 5k Fun Run (proceeds support the Southwest Family Advocacy Center) scheduled for April 12th at Friendship Park in Avondale.

  • 🌺 Tickets are now on sale for the We ♥️ Spring Backyard Tour scheduled for April 12th, from 3-7 PM, in Verrado.
