🐝 Weekly Roundup - Issue No. 25

Happy Thursday! 🌞
What a beautiful week it’s been weather-wise! Which brings me to Reason Numero Uno why I love living here:
“YOU DON’T HAVE TO SHOVEL SUNSHINE!”
Now let’s get out there and enjoy it, 🐝 cause…
The more you know, the more you go!

‼️ Please Note: It has been brought to my attention that the above Table of Contents (“TOC”) does not work with certain email providers—Gmail being one of them. This “glitch” does not affect the TOC on the externally-linked Event & Music Listing pages. It’s not anything I can fix on my end (or I would). 😉

REVIEW: SPITZ MEDITERRANEAN FOOD
😇 As I’ve written before, I rely on spiritual direction to guide me to whom and what I should write about and when that doesn’t come easily, I get a little anxious, you know “looming deadline” and all. Luckily, my angels were persistent with their nudging this week!

FOR THE ❤️ OF DOGS
📸 Manny (featured above), was just minutes away from meeting his potential forever home when just prior to the adoption appointment, the wife canceled because the husband said Manny was “the ugliest dog he’d ever seen…”. 😢 Apparently, Manny is very hard to get a good picture of because he just wants to be on your lap, not posing for pics! Who wants a dog that wants to be an influencer anyway?! I’m going to 🤞 that sweet Manny gets adopted this week!
🐕️ Did you hear about Pepe, the Chihuahua who went missing from his mom’s home in Laveen 7 years ago? Well, good news! The frail, now 15-year-old fella, was recently found wandering the streets of Litchfield Park about 40 minutes away from where he initially went missing. Thanks to his microchip, Maricopa County Animal Care field officers were able to return him to his original owner.
✅ Please check that your animal’s microchip information is current. 😉

🗑️ Mark your calendars—and set an alarm on your phone now—starting NEXT WEEK (the week of March 3, 2025), our trash service is changing to both trash & recycling being picked up on the same day! New map & collection schedule can be found here. Also, the rates are increasing and will be reflected on your March bill.
🎟️ Tickets are now on sale for Verrado High School’s theatre production: Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’ which runs 3/06-3/08 at Verrado High School.
🪩 Tickets are now on sale for the Friends of the Southwest Family Advocacy Center’s 2025 Spirit of Strength Gala which will be held on 3/21 at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear.
📣 You may have seen the buzz on social media about Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods coming to Goodyear Civic Square (GSQ). I reached out to TJ’s Corporate, and while they do have plans for this area eventually, there are currently no confirmed plans for GSQ. You can check this page on their website where all locations are listed once a site is selected. I’m still waiting on info from “a developer,” so 🤞 the Whole Foods rumor holds up!
