🐝 Weekly Roundup - Issue No. 18

Greetings Neighbors!
As you may remember, I previously shared that I would be taking part in the Buckeye Civic Institute program. Well, my wait is over - the first class is tonight! I’m so excited, I’ve been waiting for this for weeks!
I’m looking forward to gathering lots of fun Buckeye facts and information that I can share with you here.
I truly cannot wait, 🐝 cause,
The more you know, the more you go!

REVIEW: COPPER & SAGE

Mr. Buzz & I had been meaning to go out to dinner for well over a year now - so many things to celebrate - but the time just wasn’t right and the stars never seemed to align.
It was getting late. On a Sunday night. On a holiday weekend. I was already hangry. But otherwise, we had nothing restricting us, so we decide - on a whim - that tonight’s the night we get gussied up and leave the house…
As is often the case in how these stories come to be, going here was not my idea. And that is my favorite thing about writing The Buzz!

IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW 🔎
❌ The Craftsman in Verrado is permanently closed. Unfortunately, I have no further information about why; the business contact I had no longer works there but did confirm the closing.
☕️ DeGiNo’s Coffee is coming to Sunrise Market! While they wait for their space to be completed, their mobile espresso bar is set up in the parking lot at 20980 W. Sentinel Drive, Buckeye (Verrado). Follow them on Instagram to stay up-to-date on their grand opening!
🚘 Verrado Viper Vanguard is seeking vendors & all models of vehicles (“if its got wheels, bring it”) for their car show scheduled for January 18th at Verrado High School. Click link for registration information.

KIND WORDS 🌺
❤️ I want you to know how much I appreciate your love for The Buzz! Your kind words bring so much sunshine to my life, I want to start sharing them! Here are a few, but there are many more and I read and value EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! Thank you for taking the time to send them to me. ❤️
“So interesting and informative with a personal touch! Love it!”
“Hello! I look forward to this email. One stop shopping for what’s happening.”
“I look forward to reading it every week! It’s so nice to see so much good information all in one place. ❤️”

FOR THE ❤️ OF DOGS

🐶 Rebel Clips offers $10 nail trims (for dogs) at various locations throughout the valley. She’ll be at the Waddell Farmers Market (held at Canyon View High School) on Sunday, January 12th & 26th from 9 AM - 1 PM.
🐕️ Through January 15th, Pamela Holman is collecting old towels, flat sheets, blankets and pillow cases for a new vet clinic in the area. They will pick up from your porch! Easy peasy.
🐩 I know how hard it is to find dog sitting/training services so when I saw a friend recommend Cole/Christal Canine, I wanted to share the contact information here. He offers a variety of services including daycare, grooming, training & overnight boarding. **Note, please always do your own due diligence when hiring anyone to care for your animals.

THIS & THAT 🐝
🇺🇲 Lots of comments and suggestions on last week’s article (“Living & Wasting Responsibly”). Reader A. Montgomery asked me to relay that Help Vets are in our area every week. Click the link for more info and to schedule a donation pickup.
🏘️ Discounted tickets are now on sale for the Encanto Palmcroft Historic Home Tour & Street Fair to be held on March 16, 2025 at Encanto Park in Phoenix. While this isn’t “local,” it sounds interesting; Encanto Palmcroft is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Arizona. In addition to being able to tour the inside of houses, the tour includes a ride on an old-fashioned trolley while a guide provides commentary about the neighborhood. Some famous people have inhabited these homes! I was able to speak with someone from the historic society last night about this, and wow, I cannot wait to visit!

BUZZ BUSINESS PARTNERS
🐝 I’m so close to being able to include local businesses here!
I am just waiting on one small but important regulatory-related detail. Otherwise, my ad package options are ready to send, so be on the lookout for an email from me very soon! If you have already contacted me to request this, you are on the list!
It is my goal to have local ads in next week’s issue as soon as I get a straight answer from the AZ Dept. of Revenue. Seems what I’m doing here is so unique that it has to be researched - no easy answers. 🫠
If you’re interested in advertising and sponsorship options, email me at [email protected]

Until next week…
💔 I can’t close out this issue without mentioning the devastation that is happening right now in California. I know there are many California transplants here (like me) and many of you probably have family that have been directly affected by the fires. I’m shocked today by what I’m seeing in the daylight. I’m so sorry. I feel so helpless. 😢
💌 If you enjoyed this issue, please share it with someone who is dreaming of warmer weather! 🥶
And, as always, I’m here for any feedback, thoughts, topic suggestions, or if you just want to say hello. Reach me by replying to this email or directly at [email protected].
