It’s a big day for us here at The Buzz! Today is our 5-year-Arizona-anniversary!
We moved here on the then-so-far hottest day of the year back in 2021. The next morning, I rode my bike around the block and spent the rest of the afternoon recovering with a cold rag on my head and electrolytes in my water bottle. Silly little beach girl.
Actually, weather aside, I would have never imagined moving to a different state—where we knew nobody—and starting completely over smack dab in the middle of midlife would have been as difficult as it was. Settling in has taken a lot longer than I expected.
Our experience made me truly understand what it’s like to feel disconnected from your community. In truth, especially that first summer, I felt like I landed on Mars. This is one of the main reasons why I am so dedicated to connecting us all through The Buzz.
It also warms my heart when I get messages from you—whether you’re new in town or you’ve lived here forever—saying that The Buzz has made you feel more connected to the community. 🫶
