A little heat isn’t going to stop us though! There are so many fun things happening that I had to delete a section just to make room for everything! 🕺

FOR THE ❤️ OF DOGS AND… TURTLES 🐢 

This tortoise, TOPASIO, caused quite a BUZZ last week when she escaped her yard in the Sundance area. Many good neighbors took to the streets in an attempt to find her and unite her with her elderly owners. I am happy to report that after 2 days on the run (or is it crawl?) TOPASIO was reunited with her family. I love that so many people were intent on finding her! I love good news stories like this!

🐢 Fun Fact: Tortoises are turtles, but not all turtles are tortoises. Tortoises like to spend their time sunning on land and are bigger and heavier with with dome-like shells. Turtles live in water and have webbed, stubby feet and sharp claws. I think it’s safe to say, if you see a turtle around these parts, it’s definitely a tortoise!

COMMUNITY 💟 HEARTBEAT

🐎 Last Sunday, by chance, thanks to the posting by a neighbor, I learned of a Hispanic tradition called a “Cabalgata” which translates to a “parade of horsemen” which is done to support someone in need. I was only able to catch the tail-end of the procession but it was breathtaking.

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, there is another Cabalgata, this time to raise money for the funeral expenses for Christian Valenzuela (age 17) …
