LOCAL EATS: OVER EASY
Crackin' Into the Buckeye Brunchin' Scene

MEMORIES…
Over Easy holds a special place in my heart, it’s where G-Buzz (our oldest son) and I celebrated with a late breakfast after touring the NAU campus in Flagstaff back in the summer of 2023. It was one of those rare days I can still picture clearly: both of us excited about visiting that area & college campus for the first time, the photos he (graciously) allowed me to take, and the pure happiness in my heart as we enjoyed our lovely meal on the patio together.
So, of course, I was excited that Over Easy was coming to Buckeye. G-Buzz, however, in true young adult form, had zero interest in reliving our first visit as I learned when I tried to get him to go with me again. Ha!
SUNNY SIDE UP

What fun awaits when you open the doors to this unassuming storefront: the comforting aroma of fresh coffee, upbeat music humming in the background, and cheery décor that instantly puts a pep in your step.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by this sun-shiny girl, Angelica, whose smile and warmth set the tone for the visit and my exit! We had a fun little chat as I was leaving.
BEEHIND THE BUSINESS
Founded in Phoenix in 2008 and featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Over Easy is known for its playful twists on breakfast favorites and specially-crafted cocktails. With locations (18 total!) all across the Valley, Buckeye residents no longer have to drive out of town to enjoy this local favorite.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The vibe? Fun, upbeat, and cheery without being overwhelming. The acoustics are surprisingly good — even with a full dining room, I couldn’t even hear the conversation in the booth right behind me.
Inside, the bar features a roll-up door that will be perfect once cooler weather rolls in, opening to a dog-friendly patio (with misters!). I had hoped to sit outside but it was still a bit too warm (actually, way too humid) for midday dining in August.
POWERIN’ UP

I ordered The OG Wolfpack ($15.49): two eggs, bacon, and cheddar tucked between two layers of crispy hash browns. Comfort food at its finest. I asked for my bacon extra crispy (it didn’t quite come that way), but I couldn’t bear to waste it. Next time, I’ll order without. It was the perfect breakfast to power me through a day of writing The Buzz, Issue No. 51!
Bonus: They have Green Cholula! If you know, you know.
SIPS

I was hoping to give their cold brew a whirl but since there wasn’t a decaf option (I arrived already caffeinated and didn’t want to overshoot the mark), I went for blend of half-regular, half-decaf hot coffee instead. It was served with a cute little carafe of half & half. The other side of the cup was cuter, but I didn’t realize that until I has halfway finished. See photo above. It was a fun little surprise that made me smile. I’m a sucker for the little things in life.

Coffee may be the star of my mornings, but Over Easy is known for their brunch’tails. Think mimosa flights with fun flavors like prickly pear and raspberry, an Espresso Martini that sneaks in a splash of cold brew, or The OG (vodka, bloody mix, pickle & lime). Arriving with your besties? Go for the Brunch Punch 32 oz Pitcher (bubbly, raspberry vodka, peach vodka, + assorted fruit juices).
They also have non-alcoholic “Vital Shots” ($5.50)! I had my eye on the Recovery (tart cherry, turmeric, lemon, black pepper and beet powder).
CHA-CHING
Download the Over Easy app before you go. The rewards rack up fast — I actually had enough points from my one and only prior visit (in Flagstaff) to score $5 off my meal today. If you know me, you know I’m all about savin’ the Benjamins!
