NORTHBOUND: NEW DISCOVERIES

If you’ve never ventured north on the I-17, you might be surprised at how quickly the desert gives way to an entirely different Arizona. Of course, that highway has its own hair-raising, Indy-500 moments, but the payoff is worth the white-knuckle grip on the steering wheel. (P.S. It’s not the road… it’s the other drivers on the road.)

I’ve driven this route plenty of times on my way to Flagstaff, but, besides a random detour home through Sedona, I had yet to explore the charming towns tucked into the nooks and crannies. You know, all those places I see (and save) on Instagram.
