Day Trippin’

Did I ever tell you about the time when I first moved here and decided to go on an adventure to IKEA in Tempe?

That was also the day I discovered that entire freeways are actually shut down on weekends in Arizona.

It took me over 3 hours to get home — the I-10 West was closed (as I discovered on my way there), I didn’t know the backroads yet, and somehow… I ended up heading north on the 60 and landing in Surprise.

I never thought I was going to make it home.

Back in Orange County, it was so easy (*but, always crowded) to pop over to IKEA in Costa Mesa for my usual lineup: picture frames, curtains, closet systems (still elite, by the way… just not quite the bargain they used to be).
